Movie Review: Central Intelligence (2016)

Central.jpg

Central Intelligence is directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber, starring Kevin Hart, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Danielle Nicolet, Aaron Paul, and Amy Ryan is about A man by the name Bob Stone (Johnson) showing up to his high school reunion as this buff muscular man, but was a overweight and bullied teen in high school, and Calvin Joyer (Hart) an accountant who wishes he can be like himself back in high school, the popular athlete, and most liked person in his school. Bob is now in the CIA, and needs Calvin’s help to spy in the satellite system, and clear his name. They soon get tracked down by the CIA, marriage therapy, and double crossings.

Positives:

I like the chemistry between Johnson and Hart that makes you like the characters a lot, and can see them as awkward friends. I liked that Johnson plays this weird, unicorn  and  gun loving man who has since been traumatized by an embarrassing event that happened 20 years ago. This movie is all in all just a fun movie that doesn’t take itself too seriously than some action movies, given that it is also a comedy.

Negatives:

There are some slow points in the movie, as well as dialogue that didn’t need to be used. If you take this as a critical then you probably saw more mistakes in the movie. The movie has flaws, but to me it still had positive components to make it a good movie.

Favorite Scenes: (Spoilers)

+Bob in the beginning

+Bar Scene

+ Going to therapy

+Finding the truth on what happened to Aaron Paul’s character

+Reunion

+Ending to Calvin and Bob going to their job

Overall I give Central Intelligence a B
